Nathan’s Future ‘Is Really Dark’

September 2nd, 2010

Emmerdale’s Lyndon Ogbourne has teased fans with the promise of a “really dark future” for his character.

The actor, who is leaving his role as nasty Nathan Wylde, said soap bosses are even planning to warn viewers ahead of certain episodes because the contents are so “corrupt and evil”.

Speaking on This Morning, the actor said: “There’s a lot more twists and turns to go. There’s a really dark future ahead for Nathan, even darker than you’ve seen.”

He went on: “The stuff we’ve filmed is possibly some of the most evil and corrupt stuff I’ve witnessed in the soap at all.

“I think they are planning on putting warnings before the episode. There’s some really dark stuff that’s been filmed with one of the main actors. It’s really corrupt and quite evil.”

In the soap, Nathan has framed half-brother Ryan Lamb (James Sutton) for the murder of their dad Mark, who was actually killed by Nathan’s mum Natasha (Amanda Donohoe).

Lyndon, who is looking forward to spending more time in London, said he hoped it would not be the last viewers see of his character.

He said: “They’ve very kindly said they’ll leave the door open so who knows. To be honest I don’t want it to be the end of Nathan. I hope he does come back at some point because I’ve just had an absolute blast playing him and there’s lots more to come.”

Lyndon Quits Emmerdale?

August 22nd, 2010

Please tell me this is a joke :( Lyndon said he wasn’t leaving!

EMMERDALE star Lyndon Ogbourne has quit the soap despite bosses begging him to stay.

The popular actor, who plays twisted Nathan Wylde, will now leave at the end of the year when his current contract runs out.

Executive producer Gavin Blyth had tried to persuade the 27-year-old London-based star to stay on.

Bosses have also promised to keep the door open for a possible return and will not be killing him off.

Gavin said: “We will be very sorry to lose a character like Nathan from the show. He’s really come into his own in recent months.”

But speaking exclusively to the Daily Star Sunday, Lyndon said: “Emmerdale has been such an incredible experience for me and the final act of the Wyldes’ drama will be so gripping. I’ve had great fun and learned so much from creating one of the most love-to-hate Emmerdale characters.

The More Evil I Act… The More Women Seem To Fancy Me

August 6th, 2010

Girls love a bad boy – as Emmerdale actor Lyndon Ogbourne is fast finding out. It seems the worse his character Nasty Nathan behaves, the more attractive he becomes…

“It’s weird,” says Lyndon with a grin.

“Women write in to me saying: ‘You’re the most horrific person I’ve ever seen in a soap and you’re horrible and my mum hates you – but I wonder whether you’re any good in bed.’ “Another woman wrote a letter saying how disgusted she was by Nathan and then went on to be quite explicit about her wanting him to take her to bed. There are some corrupt people out there.

“Obviously a lot of women really do like a bad boy, but personally I find it hard to take in the idea of being a heart-throb. Nathan is doing horrific stuff – it’s difficult to understand that people find him fit.”

Devious and twisted, Nathan is not someone you’d want to cross. The eldest son of the posh Wyldes, he has blackmailed his mother Natasha and helped cover up her murder of his father Mark.

“I Love Getting Abuse”

July 31st, 2010

He went on: “People love to hate Nathan and I love it. He’s one of the most evil characters in soap and it’s great to be given the chance to play him.

“Being abused on the street is like a reward for doing a good job.”

July 30th, 2010

Emmerdale star Lyndon Ogbourne has assured fans that he currently has “no plans” to leave the soap.

He added: “[I'm] sad to see the Wyldes dispersing but I’m really enjoying playing Nathan, so no plans to leave yet – a long, winding, twisted road to follow Nathan down before he departs the Dales. I am excited about other filming and theatre projects that I’ll do in the future, though.”

Later, Ogbourne revealed that he is due to start filming more confrontations with his screen half-brother James Sutton (Ryan Lamb).

“‘Nathan’s Capable Of Murder’”

July 29th, 2010

Lyndon Ogbourne has claimed that his Emmerdale alter ego Nathan Wylde is capable of being a killer.

Speaking to the Daily Record, the actor also predicted that Nathan will meet a “horrific” end.

He said: “Nathan has become a catalyst for many of the problems within the village and a lot of people have followed up shouting abuse at me in the street by saying I was one of the reasons they tuned in to the show – to see how evil I would get.

“Viewers know that when Nathan walks into a scene potentially it’s all going to kick off. Nathan is a very determined and angry character, who in my opinion would stop at nothing to achieve what he wants.

Amanda Donohoe To Leave ‘Emmerdale’

July 25th, 2010

Emmerdale star Amanda Donohoe is to leave the soap after nearly two years in the role of Natasha Wylde, DS can confirm.

The actress will film her final scenes for the ITV1 show later this year as her character’s dark storyline, involving the death of husband Mark, reaches its climax.

Earlier this year, fans saw Natasha shoot Mark dead and bury him in the woods after the businessman’s many secrets and lies were exposed, tearing his family apart. The plotline takes a new twist in next week’s episodes when Mark’s body is found.

Speaking of her forthcoming departure, Donohoe commented: “My initial contract with Emmerdale was only for a year so the fact I’ve stayed for two years is testimony to the show’s fantastic cast, crew and producers – Gavin Blyth and Steve November.”

Nathan Wylde Scared Of Murder Set-Up

July 23rd, 2010

Nathan Wylde finds himself in the “worst nightmare imaginable” when he is framed for murder by his own mother in ‘Emmerdale’.

Lyndon Ogbourne – who plays the troublesome farmer – can’t believe his screen mother Natasha Wylde (Amanda Donohoe) has allowed his character to be arrested for the murder of his father Mark Wylde (Maxwell Caulfield), even though she is guilty.

He said: “It’s like the worst nightmare imaginable and he can’t believe what’s happening to him.”

Nathan and his mother had planned to frame Mark’s other wife Faye or her son Ryan for the killing – but Lyndon admits their scheme hasn’t gone to plan.

He said: “The whole frame-up scenario was intended to throw the scent off his mum Natasha. Now he could be the one facing a life sentence for murder.”

Lyndon also admits that his character’s behaviour doesn’t help himself.
